Due to road improvement work, vehicles will be closed as follows.
If you have any questions about access to the observatory, please contact the observatory.

　　　Take the road to the right (detour) ➡ Seiwa no Megumi Kobo (blueberry garden) ➡ Observatory

    Kyushu Chuo Expressway Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura Oike Takayama IC → Yamato Nakashima Nishi IC → National Route 445 towards Yabe / Takachiho → National Route 218 “Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura” → “Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura” to Takachiho 200m ahead turn left (north direction) → Follow the sign "Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory".

    【Matsubase direction of Matsubase】
    ・Kyushu Expressway"Matsubase IC" → National Route 218 towards Yabe / Takachiho → National Route 218"Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura" → "Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura" to "Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura" to Takachiho 200m ahead turn left (north direction) → Follow the sign "Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory".

    【Aso area】
    *Kiyomizu Pass route via Kiyomizu Pass (Prefectural Route 319) is not recommended due to its narrow width.
    *We will guide you through two ways.
    ① National Highway 325 Minami Aso → Takamori Town → National Route 265 toward Yamato Town National Route 218 “Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura” (north direction) → Follow the signs for Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory
    ② From National Route 265, turn right at the traffic light immediately after exiting the Nisemoto Tunnel, Prefectural Route 141 → Follow the signs for Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory(Some sections have narrow roads.Please be careful)
    *National Route 265 Sugeo → Prefectural Prefectural Route 141 → Observatory is also available
    【Takachiho area】
    *We do not recommend the Prefectural Route 319 from National Route 218 because it is narrow.
    ・National Route 218 to Kumamoto
    →Turn right before 200m on National Route 218"Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku Mura"(North direction)
    →Follow the sign for "Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory".

    *Route buses can only reach "Roadside station, Seiwa Bunraku Mura".
    Please take a taxi from "Roadside Station / Seiwa Bunraku Mura" to "Seiwa Plateau Astronomical Observatory".
